Richard was born in Lansing, Michigan and is a
Yankton Sioux Native American. His family moved to Willows,
California after his father’s death in 1951. He graduated
from High School there and joined the Navy. During his 4 years
in the Navy he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and
felt a call to attend Bible College. He graduated from Bethany
Bible College now Bethany University (Assemblies of God) in
1971 with a Bachelors degree in Pastoral Theology. Over the
years the Lord has been preparing him for a pastoral ministry.
He was pastor to our hearing impaired congregation at Calvary
Assembly of God in Salinas, California for several years.
During his growing into
ministry years Richard worked for the USPS and finally retired
as an electronics technician in June 2000. Since then he has
worked several part time jobs to help fund Amazing Grace
Circuit Church, Inc. He is currently an Instructional
Assistant substitute in special education for the Monterey
County Office of Education.
In 2006 he completed
the paperwork to incorporate our ministry as a chartered
501(c)3 corporation under the Association of Evangelical Gospel
Assemblies in Monroe, LA. In early 2007 he completed testing
for his ordination with this Association, passed the tests and
is now ordained.
Richard and Laverne
have been married 39 years. They met and were classmates at
Bethany.
Laverne was born in Paris, Texas (not France) and her
family moved to California when she was an infant. She grew up
in Salinas and has Choctaw and Cherokee ancestry. She graduated
from Salinas High and proceeded to Bethany where she received
her Bachelor of Science degree in Religious studies/education
and a minor in philosophy. She has worked as a preschool,
kindergarten and elementary teacher and Preschool assistant
director. She has always been motivational and supportive of
Richard and their ministry. She is currently an Instructional
Assistant substitute in special education for the Monterey
County Office of Education.

Listed below are
some of the Rendezvous in Northern California we currently
attend, which are in black, or we would like to attend, which
are in red. Our purpose in attending Rendezvous is to
present a positive Christian witness and to hold Protestant
church services. Our Christian witness includes letting
buckskinners know that we can have just as much fun and shoot
just as well as many of them and we don’t have to be
crude, course or drunk to gain that enjoyment.
Amazing Grace Circuit
Church was incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation to
allow us to issue tax-deductible receipts for financial
support. This support allows us to further our outreach
to the American Fur Trade Rendezvous as missionaries to the
19th century. We would like to encourage you to pray
about supporting our outreach so we can make those events that
are red (ones we are unable to
attend) into black (ones we are able to attend). If you know about events in Northern California
that are not listed let us know so we can pray about adding it
to our list.
